Hello Friends,
A steady 20 kts of southerly pushing in by 0700 this morning. There’s some swell about too. The MHL buoy recorded 1.6 metres of 6 second mainly south swell at 0400. Set wave faces at Dee Why point were into the chest high range while along the beach it was shoulder to head high on the big ones. Unfortunately the southerly was chewing it up from about the pole north. Kiddies to No Mans was shutting down on sets, but there were sections to be had. The Collaroy to Narrabeen stretch was in the chest high range, but no one was in the water dodging the mainly shutting down conditions. As usual there was a knot of locals up at Northy where it looked, well, southerly.
Wind is set to gradually fade and then go SE later. Tide was low at 0625 and will be back to low at 1250. It should be partly cloudy an up to 25 later.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving east. A southerly change is expected to move up southern and central parts of the coast on Friday and Saturday, before stagnating on the Mid North Coast Saturday afternoon. On Sunday the slow-moving high pressure system in the Tasman Sea strengthens a ridge over eastern NSW with winds tending northeast to northwest ahead of the next frontal system reaching the south coast Tuesday morning.
