Hello Friends,

A metre of 7-sec ENE wind bump washing softly into the beaches of Sydney on Christmas morning. Warming up quickly too, so it’s easy to believe we’ll easily get to the predicted 27. Tide was high at 0635 and is now dropping to the low at 1305. Wind will ramp up later from the NE and get into the 15-25kt range. Surf conditions at Dee Why were… well, you wouldn’t call it surf as such. It’s as small as it can get without being too small to catch. There were a few bods playing about in the ankle to knee high dribble along the beach and one hopeful hanging around at the point.
A typical summer’s day coming up I’d say. Probably the best shot will be late this afternoon at semi-protected corners that cope with NE wind. Could be some short period chest plusses at the right spots.
Not much doing on the various swell prediction models this morning. The week ahead currently looks like more or less what we have today; clean and tiny in the mornings then windy and waist plus late in the day.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is currently directing north to northeasterly winds along New South Wales coastal waters. The high will remain over the central Tasman Sea this weekend, before drifting further east on Monday. A weak cold front will clip the far south of the state on Monday, with an associated southerly change extending along the south coast on Monday night and early Tuesday. Winds are likely to quickly shift northerly throughout again from Tuesday afternoon due to the persistent high pressure system and a trough approaching from the west.
