Hello Friends,

A faint south breeze was wafting in at 0750 this morning. It should swing NE a little later and get up to 15-25 kts by late afternoon. Tide was just on high and there were a fair number of folk down toward the south end of the Dee Why-Longy stretch. Waves looked to be in the knee to waist range – which is consistent with the 1.6 m, 7-sec east wind swell being picked up by the MHL buoy at 0500.

It really looks like a rinse and repeat of Boxing Day conditions, so if you found a wave then, have a look at the same spot again today and I reckon it’ll be close to, if not slightly bigger.

And the outlook? Well, if anything, according to this morning’s models today and tomorrow ought to be okay and after a dip on Thursday it could bump up again on Friday. Not by much mind you, but NE wind swell spots that don’t mind high tide, could be fun.

So get out there if you can and take your chilled hey-it’s-summer attitude.
