Surf report

Surf’s up from the South but mostly whitewater at open beaches.. Wind is SW and picking up..expe ted to go E SE later. Try protected spots.

Crisp

There was a crisp feeling to the early morning air, to match the crisp new swell. It’s not huge, but set waves were about the 3ft range at Queenscliff – and could perhaps be a little bigger at spots more exposed to the south. Wind was light early and, if it stays that way, it […]

Knee to waist plusses if you look around this morning

Hello Friends, A quick scan of the cams and a hurried casting of the runes finds that Sydney’s ESE magnets had knee to waist plus ripples as of 0630. Wind was a light WSW’r under clear skies. Tide was starting to run in for the 1050 1.8m high. The MHL buoy was seeing 2.5 metres […]

Surf report

Arvo update Tide’s right but its at the Don’t Bother stage.. Southerly is pumping …gusts of over 50ks on the coast. Waves are all over the place. Stay home unless you want to get caught in traffic with people now leaving the beach.

Surf report

Update Refreshing S SW wind now on the coast..won’t do much for wave quality..just fyi

Surf report

There are still waves coming in sets from East North East, smaller after last night’s southerly, but it’s a bit high..high tide was at 10.10. Lovely day for the beach..not ashot as yesterday. Light breeze.

Postcards from Cali on the westside

Lotta wind but i thought maybe a spot west of goleta might be cleaner. It was but swell angle and period were not quite working despite the wind protection. The picture sorta lies because it was mostly more section-y and junky. Still gives you an idea… and this is southern California on a Saturday afternoon… […]

South exposures the best shot for Sunday early

Hello Friends, Looks as though you need to find a spot exposed to the south to get anything at all in the way of a wave this morning in Sydney. The MHL buoy is showing 1m waves from the SSE at 7 seconds apart. There’s a 1.86 metre high tide at 1010. Wind was light […]

Surf report

Arvo update Long wait between them but sets are still coming though …and..but it’s crowded and getting shallow= recipe for getting hurt or worse. ..and it’s hot. Maybe stay where you are with a cold drink.

Surf report

Glassy waves everywhere with a swell direction of East, East North East…and people everywhere. The Southerly change last night knocked the swell down a little but it’s not knocked out. Hardly any wind at the moment. Was overcast earlier but blue sky is appearing now. Waves are in the 1-2 metre range, averaging mostly around […]
