Surf report

Postcard from Byron:

A different story today..

Surf’s up.. But

So is the Wind.. . In your face : SSW 50kph and gusts of 60 to
65kph..which was enough to blow light people back over the wave and make it
extremely difficult for anyone to get down the wave face and then stay on
in the gusts. .but some did.

And the Crowd..there mustn’t be much happening over the border cause
they’re all down here, plus busloads literally…local school surfing.

And the Surge…fierce enough to make getting out at the point hard.

So my strategy. .park at the Capt Cook “lookout” (where btw you can’t see
through the trees anything of the fantastic view that used to be there for
all to appreciate, including disabled people.. . Thanks Custodians). ..and
go out further down the line.

Mildly successful strategy, except the wind and crowds were there too!. I
had enough after two lame waves. Never mind.. I got wet. And I was tired
after my previous four days of surfing.
