Waves for Sunday morning

Hello Friends,

First day back from my trip up north and whadya know, there are waves. The MHL buoy is showing 1.5 metres of 8-0 sec from the east, but there were definitely shoulder to head high wave faces at the point and up the beach – which is more than I’d have expected from the numbers. Crowd was a Sunday standard moderately busy. The Bureau says the wind’ll be relatively light and from the S-SW later. At 0730 it was out of the west.
Tide’s low at 1020 and then back to a 1.5m high at 1640. Weather should be partly cloudy with a high of 22. Water is generally clean according to beachwatch.
Outlook is for waves all day and tomorrow the models are telling us to expect a very long period (14-16 sec!) pulse from the SSE with light winds all day. The predictions are for the energy to still be rolling in on Tuesday and for the wind to again be light. It’s shaping to be smaller but not unsurfably so in the back half of the work week and through the weekend. Happy days!
Have a great Sunday everyone!
