Pumping Sunday morning at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

The short version: Dee Why is on this morning. Wind was 10 kts or so from the west and it should stay around that all day. Tide will be low at 0905 and then back to a moderate 1.5m high at 1540. Should be sunny all day.

Swell was 2.8 metres at 12 seconds from the SSE as of 0500, and when I grabbed the pictures three hours later, I’d say it was probably still close to those numbers. From the look of this morning’s models, the energy levels should stay pretty close to what they were when I took the pictures around 0800 through the day and into tomorrow morning. Beyond that, midweek is looking marginal and then swell should perk back up a bit at south magnets as we head into next weekend.

Not surprisingly it’s very busy at spots with waves, so I’d be taking my chilled attitude today.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over southeast Australia is the dominant synoptic feature in the region, promoting generally light winds along New South Wales waters today. The high will weaken and move to the Tasman Sea later today, as a low and associated cold front develop south of the Bight. Winds will tend north to northwesterly and strengthen in most areas tonight and Monday as this cold front approaches the state. The cold front is expected to bring a westerly change to coastal waters on Tuesday.
