Waist to waist and a bit at Dee Why to Longy

Hello Friends,
Air quality was pretty ordinary this morning when I stopped by Longy to grab a few pictures. Visibility was under 2 km and there was a strong smoky smell. Wind was light from the west when I checked it around 0730. Swell was out of the south about a metre at around 10 seconds apart and that meant mostly waist high wave faces along the Dee Why to Longy stretch. There were people scattered all along the beach, but there weren’t any obvious standout peaks. I think the deal is that you see something interesting, paddle out and then wait…
Tide was low at 0640 and is now coming into the 1.5 m high at 1300.
Outlook is rather so-so. Depending on the model you look at, waves will stay about the same over the next 24-48 hours before it cogs down into the marginal range as we get to the back half of the work week.
So, if you can get in, do so, and if not, well you’re definitely not missing all time waves.
Have a top old Monday!
