Swell bumped up just on dusk yesterday and this morning sees 10-15kts of WNW at 0700 and as of 0500 the MHL buoy was seeing 1.7m of 8-second south swell. Tide’s dropping to the low at 0930 and today’s high of 1.6m will arrive at 1605. As of 0645 waves at Dee Why were into the waist high range along the beach but smaller at the point. The good news is that it should stay offshore today and the Bureau says the south swell should bump up into the 2-2.5m range this morning.
The Goat’s surf forecast arrived in my email last night as he’s poking around up north at the moment. As always, I commend his sagacious prognostications to you.

Vigorous west to southwesterly winds following a cold front will ease during today as a strong high pressure system over central Australia extends a ridge into New South Wales. Winds will strengthen again on Saturday over southern and central waters as the next front passes through.
