Hot and tiny Wednesday

No sign of a wave at the Dee Why end of the beach

Hello Friends,

Yep, it’s hot along the beaches too. And as so often happens with these conditions, wave activity is minimal at best. I couldn’t see anyone at Dee Why as of 0700. A scan of the local cams suggests there isn’t much anywhere else either. Good for a swim I guess.

Not that it matters much, but we’re headed to a 1.75 m high at about 1015. Wind should pick up from the NE soon and it’ll build to 15-25 kts ahead of a 20-30 kt south change this afternoon.

At 0500 there was a mix of north and SSE bump, but although 1.4 metres at sea, the average period was less than 8 seconds.

This morning’s swell models continue to be uninspiring. The most optimistic is predicting short period and small to tiny wind bump until Monday when there may be some hope of a brief spike in the energy levels at south magnets.

Have a top old Wednesday and stay cool!

Weather Situation

A front will bring a southerly change to southern and central parts of the New South Wales coast today, while a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the northern coast. The change is expected to weaken and stall on the northern coast overnight and Thursday, as a new high develops over the southern Tasman Sea. This high should bring a gradual return to northerly winds along most of the coast by the weekend, before the next southerly change on Sunday and Monday.
