Hello Friends,

Made a circuit of the options between Northy and Dee Why point and can report that Monday is highly missable – but if you’re absolutely desperate to get wet, there are some ultra dribbly, ankle to knee high things here and there. Actually, you can pretty much paddle out at any random spot and you’ll have the best of it.
As of 0600 the MHL buoy was shwoing 1.6 m of 7.7-sec chop from 166° and as I write this wind is SSE at 10 kts under leaden skies. There’s a 70% chance of a light shower and, to the extent it matters, our next tide is a 1.6 m high at 1145.
Outlook is for the wind to be against us until around the weekennd – at least. The chop should push up a little midweek, but at this stage I’m not overly hopeful that it’ll be enough to overcome the wind’s baleful effects. Oh, and it promises to be cloudy with the odd light shower between now and Friday. Shaping to be an excellent work week.
Right now some of the models are pointing to possibly fun conditions on Saturday and Sunday morning as we get an influx of SE swell and the wind backs off a little. So, that’s good.
Have a great Monday!

Weather Situation

A weak high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards northeast New South Wales, while a trough lies almost stationary about the north coast. A high pressure system to the west of Tasmania will strengthen later Monday and Tuesday as it edges slowly east, extending a ridge northwards and pushing the trough northwards across the Queensland border. The high and its ridge is expected to remain slow-moving during the second half of the week, with fresh southeasterly winds dominating along the New South Wales coast.
