"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Very small to near flat this morning

Too tiny to consider this morning

Hello Friends,

Sorry kids, no surfin’ today – unless you’re ridiculously keen. Wind is out of the south and will soon be 15-25 kts. The MHL buoy was showing a metre of 9-second bump from the south. Not that it matters, but tide is now coming in to a 1110 1.64 m. Skies were partially cloudy when I grabbed the pics, but there’s a 95% chance of showers today. And the rain will intensify over the next couple of days.

Outlook is not too exciting. Basically the wind will be SE and strong, so while the swell should push up over the next 24 hours, conditions will be pretty bad for surfing through to Saturday morning. And the showery weather is projected to persist out to Monday.

Ah well, patience friends, patience. The good conditions will return!

Weather Situation

A trough lies about central parts of the coast as a high pressure system south of the Bight moves eastward. This high is forecast cross over Tasmania to the southwestern Tasman Sea overnight, strengthening a ridge along the southern New South Wales Coast. This will cause winds to shift east to southeasterly and freshen, with particularly strong winds on the southern flank of the trough. As the high slips further to the southeast on Friday and the trough weakens, winds will tend northeasterly.
