Clean and shoulder plus on sets but wind is coming

Hello Friends,

Smooth conditions as the day got started and 1.2 m of 15-sec of SE (137°) swell. Sets at the point looked to be shoulder to head plus when I checked at 0700. Up the beach toward No Mans the size is similar, but the long lines will be testing the not-very-peaky banks. As anyone who’s been in the water there lately knows, there are way more shutdowns than makeable ones. Tide is now dropping to a 0.58 m low at 1030 and high will be 1.4 m at 1650.
It’s set to be partly cloudy today with a high of 25. The wind was NNW 10-12 kts early, but as you can see it wasn’t affecting surface conditions for the early. The Bureau says we can expect it to push up into the 20-25 kt range from the west by this evening.
It’ll be interesting to see the Goat’s take on the prospects later today. Right now it looks to me as though there could be big to fun to big to fun for the next week. But let’s see what the master says…
Have a great day and yes, I’ll try to sling up a few more piccies later…

A wait for sets like this 0710
