Solid sets at the point 0915

0915 Dee Why point

later…

By 1042 getting less consistent and sets smaller and fewer

much later…

No Mans at 1640 – not looking too attractive…

The point at 1640

Went for a splash this morning at the point as the wind was coming up from the south. There were nearly 30 of us in the water at one point and the people to wave ratio was not good. Quality was not great but not bad either. Kinda average really. Sets were solidly overhead, but by late morning they were getting less frequent and smaller. At dusk the nice lines of this morning were pretty much gone, but folks were still in the water messing about with the little messy sets. Wind was SE 10-15 kts at North Head when I grabbed the snaps.

Swell is about the same height as it was this morning, but it’s come around more to the south.

It’s supposed to be southerly tomorrow, but the swell is set to pulse up again, so who knows… maybe we’ll get lucky.

Have a great evening!

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure system over the Bight extends a ridge to the northern Tasman Sea and is slowly moving east, while a series of cold fronts acre crossing the southern Tasman Sea. This is directing southwest to southeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast. Winds are expected to steadily turn east to northeasterly during the weekend as the high moves over the southern Tasman Sea and extends a ridge along the coast. Meanwhile, intense low pressure systems moving east across the Southern Ocean are generating large southerly swell across the Tasman Sea.
