The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 7 June 2018: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

Today Thursday it’s eased back somewhat but there were but still some decent waves (2-3 metres, 6-10 sec from East South East) for those with the skills, the endurance and the desire, at the right places. And it looks like there’ll be some more waves in the week ahead. But whether they are suitable or not will depend on your abilities and inclinations.

If the waves don’t look appealing to you over the long weekend, something else for you to do, or even as well as…

The Avalon Beach Historical Society will celebrate its 35th year by holding the 9th Great Historic Photographic Exhibition in the main hall Avalon Beach Recreation Centre, 59a Old Barrenjoey Rd AB, 10am-5pm Saturday-Monday, which will include material on the introduction of the malibu at Avalon Beach in 1956.  Learn about the ancestry of the board you’re riding today, as well as seeing some great old photos of the beaches and the local area.

Friday: down a bit from today, but still in the upper end of the 1-2 metre range East South East early on, then going down through the day.

Saturday: in the 1-2 metre range East (could be OK with an offshore N/NW wind)

Sunday: coming up overnight at places that are open to dead South, 1-2, 2+ metres at those spots but with wind behind it. Places that are sheltered from the S/SW wind will also be sheltered from the swell

Monday: in the 1-2 metre range East South East, with SW wind to chop it somewhat

Tuesday: -2 metre range South East with a little punch to it

Wednesday: going down in the 1-2 metre range East South East

Thursday: 1-2 metre range East South East but with a bit of punch.

Marine wildlife is around. Don’t be mistaken for a seal.
