Hello Friends,
Lots of lines piling into Dee Why this morning. Skies were partly cloudy and as of 0600 the MHL buoy was showing 2 metres of 10-sec SSE swell. Tide is dropping to a 0.4 m low at 1235 and the Bureau says we can expect the 5-7 kts of NNW wind to get a touch more north as the morning goes along. Sets at the point look to be in the chest high range with the odd head plus bomb in the mix. Up the beach it looks a bit bigger. Beachwatch says the ocean is still 20oC and water quality is good.
The outlook is for the swell energy to gradually decrease across today and to fade away to marginal at best as we get to the end of the week. And right now, Saturday’s forecast is basically for flatness. But Sunday could be a very different story if the Wavewatch model has it right. And Monday could be crazier again. (4 m+) The ECM model says it goes nuts from Tuesday… Interesting outlook anyway.

A high pressure system is moving east across the southern Tasman Sea as a low lingers over the central Tasman Sea, generating southerly winds along the New South Wales coast. Winds will turn west to northwesterly from late today, and will persist for the coming days as a series of cold fronts move across the Bass Strait.
