Hello Friends,

Well, that didn’t amount to much. I checked it at intervals on Saturday, hoping the swell would bump up as the tide dropped. But it didn’t cross the threshold for me. Best and biggest waves I saw yesterday were soft, crowded and maybe waist to chest at Northy. Dee Why was smaller and weaker.

This morning sees a metre or so of 11 sec bump from 166° out at sea as of 0600. Unfortunately the 9-10 Kt NW’r seems to be pushing it away from Dee Why. There was just nothing going on when I grabbed this morning’s pics.

First tide of the daylight hours was a 1.5m high at 0850. It’ll be back to a (very) low 0.27 m at 1440. By then the wind should be W-SW at 20-25 kts and… just maybe… the swell should come up at south magnets. Eden was 1.5 m at 8 seconds from 190° as of 0600, so that could mean that swell won’t really get into our region (because of the short period and the angle).

Anyway, I for one will be keeping an eye on it.  16° water or not, I’m keen to get wet.

Outlook on this morning’s models ranges from flat all next week to maybe an uptick on Tuesday into the fun range, then flat again until Friday. Some of the very long range models for next week are currently looking quite hopeful though (2-3 metres of SSE energy with SSW wind…), so there is that.

Have a great Sunday and check back in case I’ve spotted something worth bringing to your attention!
