Smooth, glassy and little bumps for the early

Hello Friends,

Really tiny as this morning got started along the beaches. There’s a weak but clean little NE bump making itself felt at various places thanks to a metre or so of  6-8 second NE windswell along with a hint of south component. Sets at magnets were knee to waistish and it really looked like the floaty your equipment the better. Tide was low at 0540 and will be back to a 1.5 m high at noon. There was just a breath of NW wind.

There’s a strong wind warning for 15-25 kts of westerly later today. Swell doesn’t look like coming up at all today, so the plan is to hit it now before the westerlies and high tide knock it about.

Father’s Day is shaping to be southerly, cloudy and with a chance of showers. The Bureau says the southerly swell should pick up, but the wind will limit surf options pretty severely. Sorry about that fellow fathers!

The rest of the week is not currently looking too exciting. Basically onshores and small to medium size south swell. At this stage, Thursday morning looks about the best option.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Weather Situation

Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds expected over NSW coastal waters today in the wake of a cold front. A secondary cold front will see winds tend southerly during the weekend as a high develops to the west. Winds will then tend east to southeasterly in the new week as the high centre shifts into the Tasman Sea. A coastal trough is expected to form about the northern coast on Monday and linger on Tuesday.
