Tiny NE bumps around the place

Hello Friends,

A mild sunny morning to remind us that spring is on the way. And there are even tiny, weak NE windswell waves to be had at the magnets. As you can see from the pics, the biggest ones are struggling to get to waist high. Waits are long and rides are short and gutless. Looking at the MHL data from 0700 swell at sea is around 1.5 m and 6-7 second period from the NE. Wind was light from the NW and tide hit a 1.37 m high at 0600. Beachwatch says the ocean’s still on 16°C.

Although it was mainly sunny as the day got started, the Bureau says it’ll cloud up and we have a 90% chance of showers.

I’m not too cheerful about the look of the swell model predictions for the next week. I guess the good thing is that there should be little bumps if you’re really keen to get wet. Think knee to waist more or less.

Have yourself a fine old day and keep on smilin’!

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure system near New Zealand is extending a ridge to the north coast, while a front has crossed southern coastal areas this morning.
