"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Minimal activity Monday

Hello Friends,

A beautiful morning for the start of another work week – and it doesn’t look like you’ll be distracted from your duties by the surf. At least where Dee Why’s concerned, there isn’t any.

Out at sea, the MHL buoy was showing a metre of 9 second swell from the S by SSE (154-160°). At report time the wind was coming from the west.

The coastal waters forecast says we can expect the swell to come up into the two metre range from the south. For what it’s worth I’m not seeing anything obvious in the MHL data from stations to the south of us, but I’ll keep a hopeful eye on it.

Wind is expected to go south later this morning, so there is that.

High tide’s at 0830 and it’ll be low again at 1430.

A quick scan of the long range swell prediction models suggests that we’re in for tiny to marginal energy levels through to next weekend – at least. Typical spring conditions I’d say.

Have a great Monday everyone!

A sunny morning but no waves

Looking clean but too small to surf at 0740

Weather Situation

A high pressure system is drifting over New South Wales, and is expected to reach the Tasman Sea on Tuesday, bringing a gradual shift to northerly winds in most coastal areas. A trough and southerly change look set to affect the southern half of the coast on Wednesday, before stalling and decaying as the Tasman high returns to dominance.
