Minimal surf options at Dee Why this morning

Hello Friends,

Another mild and breezy morning along the beaches. Wind was coming from the NNE at about 10 kts a little before 0800. There didn’t appear to be much of anything in the way of surf at Dee Why. No one was in the water when I grabbed the snaps and I’d say it’s probably not much above knee high anyway. Tide’s high a little after 1000, so that’s not helping much. Plus the sideshore is texturing it up. Out at sea the MHL buoy tells us there’s around 1.3 metres of 8-sec stuff from just off dead south (170°).

So when does this situation turn around? Well, the long range models currently suggest we’re in for another week of this barely-there stuff. That’s spring time for ya I guess.

Keep on smilin’, we’re another day closer to good waves!

Weather Situation

A trough over inland New South Wales is moving east and will bring a southerly change to southern parts of the coast this morning, then central coastal areas this evening, before moving over northern parts of the coast during Thursday. Later Thursday the trough decays and a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea becomes the dominant feature. Northerly winds increase once again on Friday and Saturday ahead of a strong cold expected to cross the coastal waters later during the weekend.
