Glassy early

Hello Friends,

At 0700 the weather radar was showing showers just off the coast when I took the pictures this morning. Down at the beach it was looking smooth and glassy with the occasional waist plus wave face just north of the club. There was one person at the point chasing soft and weak looking knee plus sets. A couple of hours earlier the MHL buoy was seeing 2 metres of 10-sec SSE (158°) swell. Tide hits a moderate 1.5 m high at 0815 and will be low again at 1415. Ocean temperature is around 18C.

The Bureau tells us to expect the wind to go east but only to get into the 10 kt range. Swell should stick around for the next three days and the models continue to predict a long period (15-17 sec) pulse on Thursday.

Have a top old Tuesday everyone!

Just into the surfable range at 0700

Sets at the point and Kiddies 0700

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure system near Tasmania is extending a ridge along the New South Wales coast, bringing east to southeast winds. Winds will shift east to northeasterly in most areas tonight and Wednesday as the high moves to the Tasman Sea and weakens. Northerly winds are expected to increase on Thursday ahead of the next front, which is forecast to bring a change to the south coast on Friday, before continuing to the north on Saturday.
