"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny morning, but waves? You want waves too?

Hello Friends,
Haven’t seen a clear morning like this one for awhile. Wind is light too. Unfortunately, as the pictures show, there’s no real sign of surf at Dee Why.
The MHL buoy report from 0400 showed a metre of 9-second bump from the east. As of 0715, wind was coming from the NNW at 4-6 kts. First tide of the daylight hours is the 1.5 m high at 0810. It’s back to a 0.4 m low at 1415. We’re headed to a high of 26. Beachwatch reports water temp is up a touch to 19C.
Outlook is for surf intensity to stay around the current marginal to near flat level for most places for the rest of the week. The wind will pick up again tomorrow from the northern quarters and although the Bureau says the swell will pick up, the models are showing only short period stuff, so I’m not overly hopeful. Oh, and we’ll be back to cloudy conditions again. Beyond that, the long range modelling for our region doesn’t look too exciting. Hope the predicitions prove unduly pessimistic. By then I’ll be sharing my thoughts on matters surfin’ from the other side of the planet as I spend most of November in California.

Have a top old day and good luck wave hunting!
