Heat coming and only tiny waves

Too small to attract any hopeculs at No Mans 0740
The Sunday crew waiting for a set

Hello Friends,

We’re heading for a high of 35 today, so you’d hope there’d be waves of some sort. There are, but it’s small. At 0745 Dee Why looked to be in the waist high range on sets. No one was at the point and nor could I see anyone up the beach at No Mans. The MHL buoy report from 0500 showed 1.3 metres of 10-sec bump from 132-166°. Tide is dropping to low at 1115 and will be back to a 1.5 m high at 1720. Ocean temp is still sitting on 19.

Outlook for the coming week has not improved over yesterday’s less than exciting prognostications. The most hopeful projections are still indicating a small uptick midweek, but at best it’ll only be about today’s intensity.

It’s the 25th Ocean Care Day at Manly’s South Steyne and as usual, Surfrider Foundation will have a presence. I’m headed down there later, so stop by and say hi.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

From the BoM…

Weather Situation

A high pressure ridge over the western Tasman Sea and a cold front approaching from the west are directing north to northeasterly winds along the New South Wales coast. The cold front will bring a vigorous southerly change to the far south coast late this morning, with the change extending through central parts during the afternoon and evening, and reaching the Queensland border overnight. A brief return to northeasterly winds on Monday will precede a second southerly change on Tuesday.
