Pretty sky early, but ocean choppy

Hello Friends,

Spectacular sky at sunrise this morning for early risers. The ocean isn’t looking all that fabulous but there does seem to be a bit more swell activity. There were a few people in the water before 0700. I’d call it knee to waist high and weak and messy. Wind was NNE 7-9 kts by 0700 and the forecast says we can expect that to build into the 15-25 kt range later. The MHL buoy was seeing 1.3 metres of 6 second east wind bump, so it’s interesting that we have anything remotely surfable. Looking at the wave spectral data, there appears to be some southerly component in the mix, so maybe that’s giving things a little lift.

First tide of the daylight hours is a 1.56m high at 0630. It’ll be back to low at 1245.

I’ll leave the forecasting to the Goat who should be along with his thoughts this evening. But, at least some of the modelling for early next week looks interesting…

Have a great Thursday one and all!

Burgery little bump at the point
Some activity but not much at 0645
Red sky in the morning…
