Hello Friends,
Really small waves and a textured sea surface inshore greeted early risers on a cloudy Friday morning. I’d call it ankle to knee at Dee Why. Wind was coming from the NNE at 9-10 kts. It should pick up into the 15-20 kt range later and swing more to the north. There’s an 80% chance of 2-8 mm of rain too. We have a 1.6 m high tide at 1000 and that won’t help the 6 second 1.6 metre easterly bump. Water’s on 21C.
So, if you can’t get in today, rest assured that you aren’t really missing much.
You may be wondering when or if things will change in coming days; happily this morning sees the Goat’s surf guidance for the week ahead.
Go well with your Friday!
Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing north to northeasterly winds over most coastal areas. A trough and associated cold front is forecast to cross the coast from the west today and Saturday, bringing fresh southwesterly changes in its wake. A southerly airstream is then likely to remain in the region until the early part of the new week as the front reaches the western Tasman Sea and deepens into a slow moving low pressure system by Saturday, while a ridge of high pressure becomes a dominant feature over the western parts of the state from the weekend.
