"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Whadya know still some waves this morning

Hello Friends,

I’d expected it to be really tiny this morning to be honest, but happily there are still some waist plus sets (maybe even shoulder plus on the bombs) on offer. At 0715 there were a fair number of people in the water at the point as well as a scattering of plucky types along the beach.  Surface conditions had a little texture thanks to a light NW breeze. Tide hits low at 0900 and will be back to high at 1535. The MHL buoy was seeing 1.5 metres of 13 seconds from the SSE (156°) as of 0500.
The Bureau says the wind will swing through the north to the NE as the day goes along, so the bumpy conditions at the point will not improve. On the other hand the swell is supposed to pick up, so if you have to go this afternoon, head for the north ends.
Weather should be sunny with a high of 24C and water’s on 19 according to Beachwatch.
The swell models are pointing toward tiny to flat over the next week, but given that they’ve undercalled the energy of the last couple of days, maybe they’ll be proven pessimistic again.
Have yourself a great Tuesday and get wet if you can!

Sets at the point are definitely surfable
Shutdowns the go up the beach
Bomb set for the crowd at 0715
