Light NNW breeze early brought the smoke haze back to the beaches this morning. It should pick up later as it swings NE and gets up to 15-25 kts. Out at sea the MHL buoy was detecting less than a metre of 8 second bump from the SE. But it wasn’t doing anything surfwise at Dee Why. It should heat up to 29C and there’s a 60% chance of a shower or two. Yesterday’s Beachwatch report said that our water temp is up to 21C now. So, no more steamers until next June – apart from the odd NEr dropping the temps for a few days…
There might possibly be a few little semi-rideable bumps this afternoon when the wind’s been up for a few hours, but I’m not expecting much. Tomorrow doesn’t look a lot more interesting, but Wednesday morning could have the odd chest high face at south exposures.

A high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea, promoting northerly winds along the New South Wales coast. A cold front looks set to bring a vigorous southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast from Tuesday afternoon, and then weaken as it reaches northern parts of the coast on Wednesday. Following this, winds are expected to gradually ease as a weak high pressure ridge extends along the coast.
