Beautiful morning with waves

Hello Friends,

Had a look around this morning to see if I could spot a worthy wave. Swell has come up as expected. It’s straight south and a couple of metres out at sea with a period of 11 seconds. This meant it was biggest at north ends such as Long Reef. Unfortunately in the latter case the SW wind was chewing it up pretty severely before 0900 when I looked. Plus a deep 1.9 m high tide was coming into the to the peak at 0925. The tide and straight south combo weren’t delivering a lot of joy down at the Dee Why end. There were plenty of folk in the water from Kiddies up to No Mans, and some set wave faces looked to be into the shoulder high range, but they were really difficult to paddle into and the sets were not too frequent.

By the time the tide is ready to play nice, the wind will be southerly, going around later to the NE at the end of the day. So, timing will be everything if you’re going to have a go – as usual.

Water quality’s basically good everywhere but Queensy lagoon and temp is sitting on 20C.

Right now it looks as though the general settings will be retained through tomorrow and then the models show the period decreasing as we get into Friday-Saturday. So if you can find something today, I’d do it.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.
