Smooth little waves on offer this morning

Hello Friends,

A light SW breeze under sunny and only slightly hazy skies as Tuesday got started. And there were little knee to waist high waves at Dee Why point. You should be able to find a bit bigger stuff around at Curly or other places better tuned to the current swell direction. The MHL Sydney buoy report from 0500 wasn’t showing anything obvious to account for the little bumps as it was seeing only 1.4 metres of 7 second bump from 170° (close to dead south). Curiously, the nearest buoy to the north of us at Crowdy head was showing 2 metres of 9-second stuff from 164°. But off to the south of us at Port Kembla the swell was a touch smaller and closer together than in Sydney. Interesting inversion of the usual pattern (ie bigger as you go south on a south swell that, according to the BoM should be coming up during the day).
Tide was low at 0625 and is currently running into the high at 1250. We should see a high of 25 along the coast and light E-NE wind by this afternoon. Water is clear and 20C according to Beachwatch.
Outlook is for not much change. We could have some small bumps again tomorrow morning and possibly on Thursday as well.
Go well with your Tuesday everyone!

A crew on it at the point for the first time in quite awhile

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is developing over the western Tasman Sea, and will bring a gradual shift from southerly to northerly winds along the New South Wales coast during the next day or two. A trough and southerly change are expected to briefly affect southern and central waters during Thursday as a cold front passes to the south, with another change likely on the weekend.
