"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Smoky & tiny for New Year’s Day

Hello Friends,
The smoky grey skies and the smell of bush fires silently remind those of us safe in the beachside suburbs that away from our refuge there are thousands of our fellow Australians facing another anxious day. Thanks again to all those working to save lives and property on the front lines of the climate emergency.
If you were hoping for a little soul surfin’ mood lift from our Mother Ocean, I can report that she’s at a pretty low ebb energy-wise, but if you’re patient and happy for any little pulse that comes your way, there are ankle to knee high bumps here and there.
Wind has settled back from yesterday evening’s blowy conditions. As I write this around 0945, it’s south 3-5 kts and out at sea there’s 1.9m at 8 seconds from the SSE. Tide was low at 0650 and is gradually coming into the high at 1310. Weather should remain cloudy with areas of smoke haze and will get to 26C along the coast. Water is 21C according to Beachwatch.
Outlook on the surf front appears to be for conditions to bumble along at about the current, marginal settings for the next week at least.
Stay safe everyone.
