Waves to be had this morning

Hello Friends,

Although smaller than yesterday, it was much cleaner at Dee Why when I grabbed the pics at around 0700. Lots of folk in the water chasing fairly consistent waist to chest plusses both at the point and along the beach to at least No Mans. Beachy looked to be shutting down a fair bit and at the point it didn’t seem that too many were winding all the way in.

Tide was high at 0630 and is currently running out to the low at 1305. Beachwatch says the ocean temp has cogged down to a chilly (for summer) 18C.

As of 0500 the MHL buoy was detecting 1.9 metres of 12.5 second energy from the SSE (158°). Wind was NW 8-13 kts. It’ll go NE later as the swell backs off a little. The rest of the week looks like being small thanks to decreasing periods… but with luck it won’t go flat.

It was cloudy and even a little drippy early, but the Bureau says it’s going to warm up to 27C later.

Have a great day!

Later on Friday or during Saturday a vigorous southerly change is forecast to move along much of the New South Wales coast as a cold front crosses southeastern Australia.
