"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Southerly Saturday

Hello Friends,

Nup. Not happening for the early along the Northern Beaches. Wind was south at 15-30 kts with gusts to 45 kt from first light. Tide was coming into a swampy 1.94 metres at a little after 0900. Skies were gloomy and grey with a strong aroma of bushfire smoke. Exposed spots were pretty torn up by the wind and while slightly protected areas such as south Narrabeen or Kiddies at Dee Why were relatively clean, there isn’t much swell energy at all getting in. It was 3.4 metres and dead south at 8 seconds apart out at sea where the MHL buoy is, but wave faces were maybe half that height along the beaches and rather weak looking.

North Narrabeen not happening at 0630
Set at north Collaroy
The point relatively clean but micro
No Man’s to Kiddies too tiny for any takers at 0630
The Pole looking feeble and empty 0630

Weather Situation
A vigorous cold front brought a gusty southerly change to southern and central New South Wales waters overnight which is expected to reach the far northern coast late today, weakening as it moves further north. Following this, another high is expected to move from the Bight to the Tasman Sea on Sunday and Monday, bringing a gradual shift back to northeasterly winds during the first half of the new week. The next front looks set to arrive late in the new week.
