Dense atmosphere and only tiny waves

Hello Friends,

Foggy morning at Dee Why but applying the haze cutting filter to my picture, you can make out a few folk hanging around just up from Kiddies in what look to be very tiny swell conditions. Checking the MHL data , there was 1.4m of 7 seconds from the S-SSE. There wasn’t much wind around either. Down at North Head the breeze was out of the south at 3-4 kts. Tide is low at 1015 and back to high at 1600. Water is on 24C according to Beachwatch.

Interestingly the Bureau has hoisted a hazardous surf warning for tomorrow following a swing to southerly conditions today and overnight. So, there should be wave energy, but it’s not clear to me if there will be much happening in the protected south corners. Beyond that, Weds-Thr look like being straight onshore from the east but with potentially some juice from the south…

Go well!

Low visibility morning with tiny waves

Weather Situation
A southerly change associated with a low pressure trough has stalled off the Mid-North Coast while a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the far northern coast. A stronger cold front will see the southerly change strengthen and extend further north today and into Tuesday. Behind this, a new high is forecast to move from the Bight to the Tasman Sea during the middle of this week, as another trough deepens off the northern coast.
