"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Possibilities

Hello Friends,

Well, I’m back in Sydney – three weeks earlier than originally planned. Got half way through the family visit in California but decided to pull the pin as it became increasingly obvious that Coranavirus was blowing up. I didn’t want to get caught in the USA with its problematic and absurdly expensive medical system. Plus it looked increasingly likely that travel restrictions could be an issue. And sure enough the new 14-day self-isolation order came in the day we got back. So, your correspondent will be following instructions.
I haven’t worked out if I can go for a surf as long as I maintain social distance. But if it is allowed, I’d probably stay home anyway. There are waves but the SE wind will be knocking it about soon. It looks to be around the waist to chest range and out at sea was 2.2 metres at 7 seconds from the SE. So, yeah, you could get wet, but it’s far from spectacularly good.

Haven’t had a good look at the next few days’ surf prospects, but a quick glance suggests it’ll be another day or so before the wind gets around to the north for a bit and the easterly swell intensifies a bit.

Keep washing your hands, don’t touch your face, cough and sneeze into your elbow if you don’t have a tissue, maintain 2 metre distance from others wherever possible, avoid crowds generally. And listen to actual, qualified experts.

Be safe!
