Alert
In response to new measures introduced by the State Government that limit the number of people on any beach to 500, some beaches and harbour pools are closed until further notice. This is to encourage appropriate social distancing (1.5m between people) and to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Northern Beaches Council COVID-19 pages.

Hello Friends,

8th day of your correspondent’s self-isolation. Grey and southerly this morning but there are waves in the corner at Dee Why. Size looks to be in the waist to chest high range and surface conditions are scrappy but not bad. Wind was SSE at 13-22 kts as I tapped this out. Out at sea swell is dead south and 3 metres at about 8 seconds apart. First tide of the day is a high at 0845.

Conditions are likely to get junkier as the morning goes along thanks to the wind swinging more SE.

Take care of yourselves everybody. Minimise trips outside home, wash your hands with soap and water frequently, clean high touch surfaces regularly, cough into your elbow, don’t touch your face and maintain distance from others.

Weather Situation
A southerly change that crossed the southern and central parts of the coast yesterday is heading north and will reach the Queensland border late this morning. Following this, a ridge of high pressure is forecast to extend along the coast through the first half of the week, with cold fronts passing well to the south. Mid-week a trough over inland New South Wales is expected to shift east, bringing a southerly change to coastal waters.
