Grey skies and tiny waves

Hello Friends, Grey start to the day along the beaches. Wind was coming from WSW at 6-7 kts when I grabbed this morning’s snaps a little after 0700. The buoy data was showing 1.6 metres 6 seconds from 170° (S by SSE) and it looked to be around the knee high mark on the little […]

Sunny Monday but near flat

Hello Friends, Had to be out and about on errands for the first time since getting home 3+ weeks ago. Can report that Manly was microscopic and that Curly and Dee Why weren’t notably better. Another stunning day though and there were heaps of people ambling along the beaches. Out at sea the swell was […]

Sunny tiny Sunday

Hello Friends, Beautiful autumnal Sunday out there. Waves are really tiny though (maybe ankle to knee) – and it’s inconsistent. There seemed to be a reasonable number of people in the water even so. Out at sea the swell is about a metre at 8 seconds from the south. Wind is NW 8-10 kts. Water’s […]

Rainy and windy start to Saturday

Hello Friends, A stiff northerly breeze was blowing the light rain against RealSurf’s wheelhouse windows as Saturday started. The rain should let up later this morning, but for now, getting a picture from the crows nest is not practical. There isn’t much going on with the surf this morning. Although surface conditions were actually rather […]

Bike report

Looking small, real small. Checked the Collaroy-Narrabeen stretch first. Only a few people splashing about because waves were maybe knee high and only rarely appearing. The Dee Why to Longy stretch was equally small, but there were lots more people in the water and walking along the beach.

Tiny waves around the place

Hello Friends, Went for a bike ride with the camera… Wind was light NNW 5-10 kts as of 0900. Swell was out of the NE and was a metre at 15 seconds out at sea. I did not see any obvious sign of 15-second energy though, instead, as the pictures show, it was weak and […]

Mild morning, milder waves

Hello Friends, How’s the home front this morning? Hope you’re keeping well and washing those hands. As the pictures show, you’re missing nothing where the beach’s concerned. There was a light ESE following a weak and choppy 1.2 metre SSE bump at Dee Why this morning. A few people were in the 22C water for […]
