Cold start to first week of winter

Hello Friends,

A balmy 11 C at 0730 on Tuesday morning. Wind was out of the west 10-15 kts and it was raining lightly at RealSurf HQ, so it felt even colder. Out at sea it was 1.2 metres at 5-6 seconds from the SSW – so, no sign of the expected swell just yet. However the models are still predicting a significant increase over the next 24 hours. As noted yesterday, the first evidence could be visible late this afternoon, but from tomorrow it should fill in and then last through Friday in one way or another.
I’ll try to update with a picture once the rain backs off. Go well everyone!

Absolutely flat at 0930

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over the Bight today, while a low moves across the Tasman Sea. Between these systems, a vigorous west to southwesterly airstream is affecting New South Wales, increasing over southern and central waters today as a trough moves through. During the next couple of days the high is forecast to shift east, and should be over southeast Australia by late Thursday, promoting an easing of winds during the latter part of the week, although hazardous surf conditions are likely to linger.
