Hello Friends,
Not much happening on the surf front at Dee Why this morning. There were a few people on SUPs poking around in the ankle to knee high bumps, but catching anything looked to be a challenge. The wave buoy tells us the swell has ticked up a few cm’s since this time yesterday and the average period has increased a touch to 9-10 seconds. It’s still coming from the east too. But it was close to flat yesterday and right now it looks about the same again. The Bureau tells us to expect swell to start coming up from the south as the day goes along. Unfortunately it’s going to be accompanied by SE wind. So, I’m not over hopeful about better prospects later. Maybe tomorrow when the SE’r dies down…

A surge in southerly winds is moving up the New South Wales coast today, as a cold front slips away to the south and a high pressure system over central Australia moves east. This high will be centred over the Tasman Sea by Thursday where it will linger, causing winds to gradually tend northerly by the weekend, ahead of an approaching cold front.
