Waves for Wednesday morning

Hello Friends,

After blustery conditions yesterday, the wind’s backed off this morning and the swell, while smaller, is still in the interesting range. Tide was low at 0755 and will be back to high at 1435. Wind is coming lightly from the north just before 0800 and the Bureau says it’ll pick up into the 15-20 kt range. Once that happens, the south corners, such as Dee Why will likely see surfer populations drop with the increasing chop. Swell at sea is around the 2 metre mark at 8-11 seconds from the ESE. Ocean is still on 17C and despite the rain, is rated as pretty clean up and down the Northern Beaches coastline.
Swell should decline steadily across the day, be pretty small tomorrow and probably pretty close to flat by Friday.
Go well with your day and mask up for the shops and other enclosed public spaces – as NZ shows, the virus isn’t going away any time soon.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over eastern New South Wales will shift to the Tasman Sea today, with northerly winds freshening in most coastal areas before a trough brings a brief westerly change overnight. A weak pressure pattern in the region should see winds becoming generally light later Thursday, turning northerly again on Friday as a cold front approaches from the west. This font is forecast to bring a more significant change to southern and central parts of the coast Friday evening, and northern parts on Saturday.
