Still waiting on the waves

Hello Friends,
Another briskly WNW and sunny morning along the beaches. There’s some swell out at sea, 1.8 metres at 10 seconds, but it’s coming from 170°, so it’s mostly skipping past Dee Why. Better exposures could be seeing waist plus faces, but at Dee Why the beach was lined up and maybe knee high at best. Tide is dropping to the low at 1055 and will be back to high at dusk. Water’s on 18C and that’s the forecast for our high today as well.
Outlook for the coming week is pretty interesting. If the more optimistic projections play out, the waves could be a bit bigger tomorrow and then there might be an influx of long period SSE energy on Tuesday morning that could deliver juicy and head plus sets at the best exposures. Wednesday could see a little decrease and then another pulse of long period SSE may be on tap for Thursday into Friday.
Lookin’ fun!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge into western New South Wales while a deep low moves across the southern Tasman Sea. This pattern is currently directing vigorous west to southwesterly winds along the coast. Conditions will gradually ease today and Monday as the high drifts across southeast Australia and the low loses influence, with winds shifting northerly as the high reaches the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. The next trough and southerly change are expected mid-week.
