Stormy Sunday

Hello Friends,

Too stormy to get a picture of Dee Why from the crowsnest, but it looks from the surf cams like you could get a shoulder high set wave every now and then along the beach. Of course it’s extremely choppy thanks to the brisk1 15-25 kt southerly. Tide is dropping to low at 1025 as the rain increases and we head to a high of 17. Out at sea the buoys were seeing 4 metres of 8-10 second south to S by SSW swell.
As you’d probably expect, water quality is taking a hit with the run off and this morning’s Beachwatch summary is showing pollution possible to pollution likely everywhere from Mona Vale to Manly. Water is 19C..

Outlook is for Monday and Tuesday to be like to today, only with bigger swell. Wind is set to get a little more SW on Tuesday . Beyond that the forecast currently is for a rainy Wednesday and showery weather continuing right into next weekend.

Have a great Sunday and take the mask for when you go into enclosed public spaces.

Bluefish point – too bad it isn’t surfable

Weather Situation
The strong cold front that brought a gusty southerly change to southern and central waters overnight is forecast to continue through to the northern coast today. Following this, a new high is expected to strengthen near Tasmania early this week, with the remnants of the weekend front lingering near the coast and deepening into a low pressure system offshore on Monday and Tuesday. This pattern is forecast to maintain south to southeasterly winds and bring an increasing southeasterly swell to the coast through the first half of the week.
