The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Update Friday 18 December 2020

Forget the beach and the surf for the next three days as per State Government COVID Health Advice ..stay home. Watch surf movies, read surfing mags, books…you know, etc.

TG

Surf forecast issued Thursday 17 December 2020: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

The hits just keep on comin’, don’t they eh?

Just when people thought they could finally start to relax, go places, have fun, enjoy the school hols, start to wind down for Chrissy, and even walk anywhere local without a mask on… some thing comes along to spoil their fun.

I’d like to be able to tell you how good or not good the surf was today, what the water felt like etc etc, but along with thousands of northern beaches residents, TG followed official Health Department advice, had a Covid test and then went straight home to self isolate till he gets the results!

Not to grab a coffee, get a bite to eat, have a surf or a swim on a hot day!! To say he was irritated would be to understate what he was thinking… free of Covid all through this year, and it’s now right here in our backyard!

But the inconvenience and cost caused to so many people standing in line for hours to get tested, cancelling their plans for coming days and nights, although major, is minor in comparison to potential alternative scenarios.

The community spirit, goodwill and friendliness evident among those in the lines was uplifting. Thanks to all those doing the right thing!  The only way to get on top of this is to follow the official health advice for the northern beaches – see latest below, and check for updates as new venues and times get added.  Check venues for closures.
