Glassy waves for exercising folk

Hello Friends,

The Bureau’s hoisted the strong wind warning for later this morning, but as the pictures show, it was still glassy as of 0830. Sets were into the chest plus range at the point and I’d say they’ll be a bit bigger at the east magnets, Swell at sea was 2 metres at 9 seconds from the east. Unfortunately yesterday’s rain has resulted in lots of “pollution possible” and “pollution likely” at almost all of Sydney’s beaches. We need some sunshine to kill the pathogens. Tide hit low at 0900 and is currently coming in to the high at 1505.

The average period is predicting to increase a little over the next 24 hours, so there could still be solid sets at east spots again tomorrow, plus there could be offshores and partly cloudy skies to go with it.

Mask up and stay safe!

Weather Situation
Fresh northwesterly to northeasterly winds prevail along most of the coast, enhanced by a low pressure trough over inland New South Wales. A transient low pressure system may briefly form within this trough near southern parts of the coast this morning before moving away to the east in the evening, accompanied by southeast to northeasterly winds in that region. After this, winds will turn southwest to southeasterly as the low moves away and a ridge of high pressure develops along the coast.
