Swell at sea this morning was 1.2 metres at 7-8 second from the ENE and wind was a barely-there 2 kts from the NE at around 0800. Dee Why was seeing wave faces in the waist to chest high range on sets, but most of the time it was closer to knee to waist. The swell direction should mean that there are lots of little surf options along the beaches this morning. Tide was low at 0620 and will be back to a swampy 1.74 metre high at 1245. There’s a 90% chance of showers by this afternoon as we head to a high of 27C. The wind should remain fairly light, but I’d expect textured conditions by this afternoon.
Outlook is for the little but surfable conditions across the coming week with mornings being the best shot = as usual. This morning’s long range swell models are pointing to a change to southerly conditions late in the week. So, swell should push up, but wind could be on top of it too.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure, currently over eastern New South Wales is directing light north to northeasterly winds over the New South Wales coast. The trough is forecast to move east this morning than deepen into a low pressure circulation off the southern coast. This is expected to bring a southerly wind change to southern and central waters on Monday, continuing to the north during Tuesday.
