Clean early, but southerly soon

Hello Friends,

The odd passing shower this morning, but patches of mostly clear skies too and only light wind for the early. Set wave faces at the better exposures were into the waist-chest high range. Swell at sea was dead south and 2.5 metres at 8 seconds. Tide hits a 1.75 m high at 1100. By 0900 when I grabbed the pictures, the surface was starting to texture up inshore, so it won’t be long before the southerly really starts smashing things. And it looks like the same pattern will prevail tomorrow, only there might not be as much of an early morning respite from the wind. After that, and right through until Friday evening, the models show SE to E wind. I’m hoping that maybe Thursday and Friday morning for the early are ok wind-wise because it looks as though swell could be 2+ metres from the E-ESE with periods in the 9-10 second range.
In the meantime, stay safe, mask up indoors and stay healthy.

Swell not really wrapping, but some were catchable
Some size on the beach, but shutty-downy too
Well populated along the whole beach

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure lie off the coast, and a high south of the continent will work together to produce fresh to strong winds along much of the New South Wales coast today. A small low will lie within the trough off the Byron coast today, and will track northwards during the day. Winds will gradually tend southeasterly during Monday as the high starts an eastward drift across the Tasman Sea and the trough weakens somewhat.
