"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Long and clean south lines

Hello Friends,

A chilly, breezy, sunny start to the day – and there’s swell. It’s SSE and 1.9 metres at sea with a juicy 15 second interval. As the pictures show, this means it’s mostly shutting down along the beach, but it’s also wrapping around the point. Mostly the waves are in the waist high range, but given that period, I’d expect the odd shoulder plus to turn up every now and then.

Wind was out of the west early but it should go SW this morning as the swell fills in. It’s expected to stay that way until late this afternoon when the southerly arrives. Tide hits the 1.42 m high at 1055 and will be back to low at 1625. Weather is set to be mostly sunny with a high of 19C and ocean temp is still a freakish 23C.

The outlook is for solid south swell tomorrow but with rainy, southerly conditions. I’m looking forward to seeing the Goat’s take on our coming week’s surf prospects when he drops his pearls of wisdom later today.

Have a great Thursday one and all!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Great Australian Bight will move slowly east this week, reaching Tasmania by Saturday and the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. This system will extend a ridge across most of NSW throughout the week. However, fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds will persist in the south today in the wake of a cold front.
