Glassy little Tuesday morning waves

Hello Friends,

Another mild and pretty morning for Sydney. Wind was light and from the north early, but it should settle around to the NE by midday. Waves were in the knee to waist high range, with the very occasional long period set turning up with something a bit bigger. The wait for waves was long and thanks to the 1 metre 13 sec SSE swell, the beachies were mostly shutting down. Tide was high at 0640 and will be back to low at 1215.

Weather is set to turn showery on us from tomorrow through to Friday. Tomorrow looks like being tinier than today with north wind and Thursday we’re in for south wind and maybe a little uptick in south energy. I’m not expecting much though as the models are only predicting 5-6 second periods. If it’s barely surfable, we’ll be doing well. There’s some prospect of waist to chest high waves at south magnets on Saturday.

Go well, stay well and have fun.

Weather Situation

A slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving towards New Zealand while directing north to northeasterly airstream along New South Wales coast. Then, a cold front is forecast to move across the state during the mid-week, bringing a southerly change to the southern coast later Wednesday and extending to the north during Thursday. Southerly winds will be strengthening on Friday as the front deepens to a low pressure system over Tasman Sea while a new high pressure system drifts across the southeast of the continent during the latter part of the week.
