Smoky Thursday morning

Hello Friends,

The smell of bush smoke is hanging in the air this morning. Air quality is going to be pretty ordinary in parts of Sydney. The wave situation is pretty much in line with expectations, ie there’s not much going on at Dee Why. Swell at sea was 1.2 metres at 9 seconds from the east. Wind was light west before 0800, but there’s a strong wind warning for 15-25 kts from the NE.

The Goat will be along later with his thoughts on the coming surf week, so check back for your dose of surf wisdom. My quick take is that there could be an improvement tomorrow at NE magnets, and next week is definitely looking more hopeful than it did even yesterday.

Have a good Thursday everyone!

Weather Situation

A cold front approaches from the west, strengthening northerly winds during today. Winds shift west to southwesterly on Friday as the front crosses the region. After this, southerly winds are likely to persist throughout the weekend.
