"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Breezy under cloudy skies

Hello Friends,

At 0730 this morning, the wind was coming from the north at 8-13 kts. An hour and a half earlier, the MHL buoy was detecting 1.8 metres of 8-second NE wind bump. As you can see from the pictures, it wasn’t producing much in the way of a wave. In fact, I’d say it wasn’t really surfable at Dee Why. If you’re desperate, the NE magnets should have something in the waist high range, but that short period will be a challenge. Surface conditions looked clean, so that’s a good thing. Tide bottoms out a 0825 and will be back to the high at 1515. There is a chance of a passing shower too.

As always, the Mighty Goat has examined the entrails for us and offered his sage surf prognostications for our judicious contemplation.

Go well with your Friday everyone!

Weather Situation

A strong cold front moves through southern NSW waters, making its way to the northeast coast later in the evening. A ridge of high pressure replaces the cold front, while a low pressure system develops over Tasmania, moving into the southern Tasman Sea over the weekend and into early new week.
